SJSO - Community Services Unit: Explorers

EXPLORERS POST 911 - "Learning to Protect and Serve"

The mission of the Explorer Program is to bridge the gap between youth and law enforcement by educating boys and girls who may be interested in a career in law enforcement. Through their service, the explorers receive training in law enforcement activities and provide support to many public events. Although some explorers may not pursue a career in law enforcement, the skills they learn during their affiliation with the program will aid them throughout their lives.

For over thirty years the St. Johns County Sheriff's Office Explorer Program has proudly provided young adults an opportunity to experience the inner workings of a law enforcement organization and to serve their community. The Explorer Program is chartered through the Boy Scouts of America and managed by the Police Athletic League. Explorer meetings every Monday at St. Augustine High School Technical Institute.
