Unsolved Crimes

Hart Home Invasion Robbery

On 06/12/2009, at approximately midnight, three armed suspects entered a residence in the 100 block of South Roscoe Blvd in Ponte Vedra.  The homeowner was in her room watching television when two of the suspects entered and demanded that she open the safe.  The victim complied with the demand and suspects proceeded to load the contents into a camouflage duffle bag, which they had brought with them.  The third suspect went room to room looking for additional safes.  The suspects then bound the victim’s hands and feet.  The suspects were in the residence for approximately 18 minutes.  Prior to exiting the residence, the suspects disabled the house phones.

The suspects were described as white males.  One was very husky, approximately 5’11” - 6’0” tall.  The second suspect was about the same height, but thinner.  The third suspect was about 5’4” – 5’7”.  All three suspects were wearing masks and gloves.  No vehicle description is available.  The suspects took cash, jewelry and firearms.

WACHOVIA BANK ROBBERY

09/15/07

The St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office is seeking a male subject wanted in connection with a bank robbery from Saturday morning, 9/15/07. Deputies responded to the bank (Wachovia) in the 400 block of S.R. 13 North (Julington Creek) shortly after 11:00 a.m.

Witnesses stated that the man entered the bank at 10:54 a.m. and waited for a customer before approaching the counter. The suspect carried a black fanny pack type nylon bag and then brandished a black handgun. He demanded all of the money from the teller’s station. An undetermined amount of cash was turned over to the suspect who then fled out the door. It was unknown if the suspect fled on foot or got into a vehicle.

The suspect was described as a white male, between 30-50 years of age, 5’7”-5’9” tall, 200 pounds and was unshaven. He was wearing a dark colored polo shirt with vertical stripes and a ball cap.

SUSPICIOUS PACKAGE

On 05/26/2006, the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office responded to 1000 W. Pleasant Place in Julington Creek Plantation in reference to a suspicious package. During the investigation, it was determined the package contained an explosive device which was rendered safe by the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office Bomb Squad. The package is believed to have been placed at the residence on the night of 05/25/2006 or the morning of 05/26/2006. Several persons of interest have been developed in the investigation, however no arrests have been made. Crime Stoppers is currently offering a reward of up to $1,000.00 dollars for information leading to the arrest of persons responsible for building and or placing the device.
