SJSO Public Affairs and Community Engagement

Working directly under Sheriff Robert Hardwick within the Office of the Sheriff, the mission of the SJSO Public Affairs and Community Engagement (PACE) Unit is to involve and collaborate with all individuals, groups, or communities, regardless of race, sex, creed, color, religion, or sexual orientation, to work towards addressing issues, solving problems, and making decisions that affect them, both individually and as a community.

Whether we are speaking to an HOA/CDD about a community problem, attending a festival to interact with the residents of the County, or talking to a individual or family about an issue that may only be affecting one person, we view public affairs and community engagement as a two-way interaction that seeks to build relationships, share information, and gather input to see that the perspectives and needs of the community are anticipated, considered and addressed in the decision-making processes.
