About the Program

We are pleased to introduce the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office College Internship Program, an enriching opportunity designed to provide college students with valuable hands-on experience in the law enforcement program. Our program is tailored to offer a comprehensive understanding of the operations and responsibilities within a sheriff’s office, bridging the gap between academic studies and real-world application.

Interns will be immersed in various aspects of law enforcement, including but not limited to patrol operations, criminal investigations, community outreach, and administrative support. This program not only allows students to gain practical experience but also fosters a deeper appreciation for public service and the challenges faced by law enforcement professionals.

This Internship Program is tailored for students who are seeking an education in the following degree areas or similar: Criminal Justice, Criminology, Internal Affairs, Media Relations, or Communications

Key highlights of our internship program include:

  • Mentorship and Guidance: Each intern will be paired with an experienced officer or civilian personnel who will provide mentorship and supervision throughout the program.
  • Hands-On Experience: Interns will have the opportunity to participate in ride alongs, assist with investigations, and contribute to community policing initiatives.
  • Networking Opportunities: Interns will interact with various departments within the sheriff’s office, as well as with community leaders and the public.
